Support the Wounded Warrior Project at the Third Annual Run Around the Lake

Help Halfaker and Associates, LLC, J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. and tripol-E support the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) by joining in this year’s third annual Run Around the Lake on October 18th, 2009.  The 4.7 mile run around Burke Lake will begin at 8:00 am and is open to competitive runners as well as those looking to support our nation’s heroes while enjoying the outdoors. 

In honor of our nation’s wounded warriors, the three service disabled veteran owned small businesses supporting the event are covering the costs associated with the run so that 100% of your registration fee will go directly to WWP.  This is a fantastic opportunity to donate to those who have sacrificed greatly for our nation. 

WWP is a non-profit organization with the unique goal of ensuring today’s newest veterans are the most successful, well-adjusted generation of veterans in our nation’s history.  WWP was founded on the principle of warriors helping warriors, and offers various outstanding service programs.  WWP’s signature service programs include peer mentoring, adaptive sporting events, and Project Odyssey–a potentially life-changing program that engages groups of veterans with combat stress and post-traumatic stress disorder in outdoor adventure activities that foster coping skills and provide support in the recovery process. 

Last year’s successful event raised $10,090 for WWP.  Sadly, the number of wounded warriors is steadily increasing.  Help us ensure that those who have borne the weight of battle return home to a grateful nation.  Please join us on October 18th as we run/jog/walk around Burke Lake; with your support, we hope to increase our 2009 donation to help the thousands of wounded warriors returning home to their families from the current conflicts.
