Halfaker and Associates Proudly Supports the 6th Annual National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo

Las Vegas, NV- This year’s annual National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo will be held from 19-22 July at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV. As both a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and supporter of the Army Office of Small Business Programs, Halfaker and Associates is proud to play a key role in the event’s coordination and is looking forward to attending the dynamic event. For the past three years, Halfaker and Associates’ CEO, Dawn Halfaker, has participated in the conference and is scheduled again to moderate a plenary session called "Small Business Success Stories" at the upcoming event.

With over 3,500 participants projected to attend this year, the conference will be the largest of its kind and will continue to focus on empowering SDVOSB owners through fostering lasting business relationships and providing resources and information to assist in developing their own unique strategies. The 2010 conference agenda will include a variety of subjects including: contracting procedures, marketing and selling to the Federal Government, legislation affecting small businesses, legal issues with Government contracting, managing small business finances, successful business strategies, and subcontracting.

Last year’s event was highlighted by the participation of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Retired U.S. Army General Eric Shinseki. During his keynote address, he eloquently praised the importance of small businesses and reaffirmed the Department of Veterans Affairs’ commitment to help Veterans start or expand their companies.

This year’s conference is sure to help generate business opportunities for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and will provide participants with an excellent educational forum for gaining all the information needed to navigate the Federal acquisition process. It will also afford participants the unique and valuable opportunity to network with numerous federal agencies and large businesses.
