Halfaker and Associates Hires the Former Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for the City of Detroit

Halfaker and Associates is proud to announce that Mr. Shelby Slater, former Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for the City of Detroit, has been appointed as the Navy Region Midwest, sub-region Mid-South, Regional CBRNE/Emergency Management Coordinator.

As Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for the City of Detroit, Mr. Slater was responsible for providing executive leadership in developing, planning, coordinating, staffing and supervising Homeland Security and emergency preparedness operations related to citywide programs, while implementing Detroit’s Homeland Security Initiative.

Mr. Slater is a highly accomplished, talented and dependable law enforcement executive with more than 28 years experience in law enforcement, emergency management and security. He has strong planning, organizational, communication and leadership skills. He will provide enormous value and expertise for the Navy Region Midwest, Sub-Region Mid-South, regional EM/CBRNE preparedness, training, and response through expert knowledge of EM/CBRNE material, equipment, and readiness requirements.
