Halfaker and Associates to Receive Department of Defense Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Achievement Award

The Department of Defense (DoD) has selected Halfaker and Associates, LLC (Halfaker) to receive theService-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Achievement Award. Out of numerous nominations, only the most exceptional service-disabled veteran-owned companies were selected. Halfaker will be formally recognized on November 17, 2008 at the SDVOSB Awards Ceremony in the Pentagon Conference Center.

Halfaker’s selection as an award winner was based on its successes, commitment to veterans, business acumen, high-level competitiveness, and rapid growth. Additional criteria included the company's corporate culture as it relates to employing veterans and service-disabled veterans. Value also was given for Halfaker’s contributions to the veteran and service-disabled veteran community and participating in the activities of veteran service organizations.

The SDVOSB award demonstrates the ability of disabled veterans to take the risks inherent to the organization and operation of a corporation that does business with the DoD. By honoring these business leaders, DoD is also acknowledging the sacrifices they have made while defending our Nation in uniform.
