Halfaker and Associates Sponsors Research for Advanced Medical Care and Treatment of Military Service Members

Country United

Washington, DC—With wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, the number of injured service members is continually growing. Halfaker and Associates hopes that their sponsorship to the Country United Gala and Military Medicine Symposium on November 6th and 7th, 2009 in Washington, DC will help foster collaboration among military and civilian partners to further advance research and clinical care for military service members.

The Country United Event was designed to bring many of the Nation’s best minds together to address some of the most pressing medical research needs of our time. All event participants were united in the goal of ensuring that our wounded, ill and injured warriors can benefit from leading scientific discovery, regardless of where the science is conducted. Through increased civilian and military partnerships, the pace at which scientific advancements are made can be accelerated.

Halfaker and Associates hopes that the United Country Event dialogue energizes continued conversation and collaboration of new partnerships that will revolutionize medical research for our Nation’s heroes.

Proceeds from Country United will benefit the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine and The Tug McGraw Foundation and their work to advance medical care for our nation’s service members and civilians. Through HJF, funds will benefit the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU)—our Nation’s only federal school of medicine and graduate school of nursing. USU–the West Point of military medicine–prepares the next generation of uniformed doctors, nurses and federal health researchers. Through TMF, funds will further civilian and military collaborations in the neurosciences to improve diagnostics, treatments and quality of life for military and civilian patients.
