Halfaker and Associates Recognized on Capitol Hill
Halfaker and Associates, LLC, a leading Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business National Security Consulting Firm, was recognized today on Capitol Hill during the hearing "Assessing Federal Small Business Assistance Programs for Veterans and Reservists." The hearing was held before the U.S. Senate's Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship. Committee Chair, Senator John F. Kerry, addressed the importance of federal agencies developing stronger assistance programs for reservist and veteran small business owners.
Currently, there are three million veteran owned small businesses, and an additional 22 percent of veterans in the United States are in the process of starting or considering starting their own business. With numbers like these, the support of federal agencies to meet the obligations of veterans and reservists is critical.
Linda B. Oliver, Acting Director of the Office of Small Business Programs/Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology & Logistics), was among seven people who testified. Ms. Oliver referred to Halfaker and Associates as "...a great up and coming company and example to other Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses."
Captain (Retired) Dawn Halfaker, CEO of Halfaker and Associates, was introduced at the hearing and presented a brief testimony to attest to the quality of work and commitment to excellence that can be expected from Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses. "I was honored to represent Halfaker and Associates and the Service Disabled Veteran community at the hearing" said Halfaker. "I have every confidence that we will continue to grow and provide leadership to up and coming veteran small business owners."
