CSC Representative
Future Soldier Training Program

Located at Fort Knox, KY, the United States Army Recruiting Command is at the forefront of interfacing with the general public on a daily basis. In direct support of these activities, the Customer Support Center (CSC) Representative is tasked with the critical mission of representing the United States Army in a professional and dynamic manner in all public contacts and interactions. The CSC Representative is often the first point of contact the public turns to for information and therefore holds the primary responsibility of ensuring that this first impression of the United States Army is a positive, informative and confident portrayal of our Nation’s Army.

Through the use of effective, timely and accurate responses to all incoming inquiries received through email, chat, telephone or internet, the CSC Representative serves as the subject matter expert on all Army programs, qualification criteria, enlistment options and job descriptions.

The CSC Representative must provide honest, clear, accurate and up-to-date information on a wide variety of topics received through incoming communications from the public forum as well as actions conducted in support of the Future Soldier Training Program.

Job Description:

Halfaker and Associates, LLC is seeking personnel to directly support the United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Customer Support Center (CSC). The CSC Representatives will be proficient in all aspects of telephone, e-mail, chat and all other electronic operations while maintaining integrity, competency, accuracy and accountability for all obtained and released information.

Position Qualifications:

  • Be a current or prior military service member maintaining or discharged under an honorable category and have not been separated for more than 3 years from active duty.
  • Required Ranger or Special Forces or Infantry skill sets.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to a changing work place on short notice to facilitate the accomplishment of the United States Army Recruiting mission.
  • Possess a working knowledge of basic computer skills and programs including, but not limited to; Web Site navigation, all Microsoft Office applications with a special emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Chat Room protocols.
  • Be able to type 30 wpm at the end of a 90 day probation period. Must be able to type a minimum of 22 wpm at time of hire.
  • Display the ability to communicate in a clear, professional and effective manner by telephone.
  • Display the ability to communicate in a clear, professional and effective manner through chat room, internet discussion thread and e-mail response typing activities which reflect accepted grammar and protocol.
  • Be able to perform duties as an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) operator.
  • Be capable of opening, moderating and closing internet chat room operations.
  • Participate in scheduled chat sessions IAW posted scheduling. Additional chat times may be scheduled by Recruiting Command with little or no advance warning, this can include weekends and holidays.
  • Respond to and electronically file e-mail messages in an accurate and detailed manner.
  • Maintain, update and code database records accurately IAW posted procedures.
  • Effectively develop and maintain rapport through the use of both written and spoken word with Future Soldiers, family members and the general public.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on a wide array of recruiting programs and options to include, but not limited to: AR 601-210, prior service, Army Reserve, Health Care services, OCS, WOFT, Chaplain, JAG, ROTC and USMA while maintaining up to date and accurate competency based off messages and policy changes as they may occur.
  • Provide information on any MOS or Special enlistment option (Airborne, Ranger, SF, etc.)
  • Be capable of updating and tracking information and postings on our web site, participate in forum thread topic creation, moderation and discussions.
  • Be capable of taking ownership of an assigned region of responsibility and accomplish necessary contact goals and actions required by Supervisors.
  • Possess the ability to identify potential issues, establish follow-ups and maintain rapport and communications with recruiting personnel in order to track and assist in the successful accession of assigned personnel.
  • Possess the ability to represent the United States Army with the highest level of integrity and conduct at all times.
  • Present and maintain a neat and professional appearance while displaying the mannerisms required to work in close proximity of your co-workers.
